Dying to be Loved (poetry at its [not so] finest).
Dying to be loved,
Loved to be dying.
Community her deepest desire.
Molds herself to be accepted,
Smokes and drinks to fit in.
Not recognizing the risks,
but only the need to belong.
She sees only herself in the equation,
surrounded by those who 'love' her.
Yet, the knife cuts her arm;
A result of immense lonliness.
Feels isolated when surrounded by friends,
No one understands.
Alone in the valley of darkness.
Death approaches with every passing day.
Dying is her goal.
Living an inconvience.
The pain runs deep.
The walls built high.
Protected by the barrier,
that stands in the way of her desire.
Community is surfacy,
Just another thing to do.
Mom lies awake and cries,
as her daughter fights to fit in.
Look beyond the scars,
look beyond the booze and weed,.
See a girl dying to be loved,
whose killing herself in the process.
***yet another poem written about a girl at C-21.
