Dysfunctional Family Christmas

This year I gave up hope for the "perfect" Christmas and decided that i would hope for a dysfunctional family Christmas.
So here's the scene:
Owen is screaming and crying, ready to puke up everything that comes his way.
Sarah is frustrated with Owen's crying and looks so dead monkey and ready to fall over because she has the flu
Jon just begs anyone with legs to get him shrimp and croquettes
G-ma is babbling on and on about who knows what
Mom just rolls her eyes, frustrated
James has his paws clinging to my box of chocholates and we have a tug a war until i finally let him win, only to distract him with a new toy and steal them back two seconds later
Rachel is half naked trying on every new outfit she got, including all the princess attire
Dan has this huge smile on his face, laughing at the hillarity of the situation
Aside from fighting James for my chocholates, i just laugh. And smile. I like dysfunctional family Christmas. Its everyones personalities just shining through. When we are dysfunctional, we get to be ourselves. No pretending to be nice. No trying to act perfect. Just being who we are....and accepting each other for their quirks. That's dysfunctional family Christmas...and a perfect one at that.

On the greater scale: Immanuel CRC's Christmas Eve service went along with the dysfunctional theme as well. I had to laugh!
Right in the middle of the choir performance, this girl just faints. The choir sings on, as the girl's family carries her off stage and all the nurses in the crowd calmly get up and take care of the situation. Oh ya, that wasn't the only one. They were dropping like flies yesterday. Another sits down about ready to pass out...i thought the whole choir was going to end up on the floor! I had to laugh, i mean, what else can you do???
